Leonie FitzGerald, a craftswoman born and raised in Africa, who has lived in Scotland for 20 years, created EarthNotes in 2002.
The Vision:
- To create a business offering handmade jewellery and other goods, using nature as the design inspiration and the source of most materials.
- To provide an outlet for handmade jewellery from indigenous craftswomen and men of Africa, paying them a fair price, and giving our customers an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and skill inherent in the creative essence of Africa today.
- To present high quality, original and affordable work.
We currently offer:
- original jewellery handcrafted in Scotland using gemstones and other natural materials. Every piece is individually made.
- silver jewellery created by Tuareg silversmiths from the Sahara, using traditional design motifs and methods
- a range of cards produced from original artwork and photographs

As well as offering our products for sale online, we sell at craft fairs, street markets, agricultural shows and other events.
